Animals reproduce at much faster rates than humans, and being a responsible pet owner means spaying or neutering your pet.

Getting dogs spayed or neutered can be done when they are as young as four months old after all of their vaccinations are complete.  Most shelters and rescue groups spay or neuter their dogs before they are made available for adoption or they request owners to get it done.

Positives about spaying/neutering your dogs:

  • Dogs make a better pet if they are sterilized.

  • Male dogs are less likely to roam or mark territory.

  • Female dogs are usually better pets if they do not have their heat cycles (oestrus) because hormone changes also change their personalities.

  • All dogs have a lower chance of getting cancer if they are sterilized
